What is Sage’s Portal?

Sage’s Portal is a tabletop game store, TCG shop, and board game cafe in Spokane, Washington.

Customers can shop for trading card games and gaming accessories, play board games, meet other players, and participate in organized gaming events.

Do I need a reservation to visit Sage’s Portal?

No. You are welcome to visit Sage’s Portal without a reservation.

You can shop, browse, meet friends, or play games when tables are available.

During tournaments, prereleases, and other busy events, table availability may be limited.

Can I come in just to play games?

Yes.

Sage’s Portal is a community gaming space. Customers are welcome to play board games or trading card games with friends when space is available.

We recommend checking our Events calendar before visiting because larger events may use some or all of our gaming tables.

Do you have board games available to play?

Yes.

Sage’s Portal has a board game library available for customers.

If you are not sure what to play, ask our staff and we can help you find a game that fits your group.

Can I bring my own board game?

Yes.

Customers are welcome to bring their own tabletop games and play with friends when space is available.

You can also choose a game from our in-store board game library.

Can I bring outside food or drinks into Sage’s Portal?

No.

Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside Sage’s Portal Cafe.

We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.

If you have a medical or dietary need that requires an exception, please speak with our staff.

Is Sage’s Portal family-friendly?

Yes.

Sage’s Portal welcomes families, children, teenagers, adults, experienced gamers, and people who are completely new to tabletop gaming.

Some organized events may be more competitive than others, so please review the event description before registering a younger or newer player.

Can children play games at Sage’s Portal?

Yes.

Children are welcome to play tabletop games and participate in appropriate events.

For organized TCG events, parents should review the event format, length, and competition level before registering.

Is Sage’s Portal good for beginners?

Yes.

Beginners are welcome at Sage’s Portal.

Can I reserve a table?

Table availability depends on the day, group size, and event schedule.

For larger groups or situations where guaranteed space is important, please contact Sage’s Portal in advance.

Can Sage’s Portal host a birthday party or private group?

Please contact us with your preferred date, approximate time, group size, ages of the participants, and the type of activity you are planning.

Do you sell trading cards, board games, and gaming accessories?

Yes.

Sage’s Portal carries tabletop gaming products, trading card game products, dice, accessories, and other gaming merchandise.

Inventory changes frequently, especially around new releases.

If you are looking for a specific product, please contact the store before visiting.

What should I do on my first visit?

Come in and speak with our staff.

You do not need to already know how to play a game or belong to a gaming group.

Tell us what you are interested in and we can help you find games, products, events, or other ways to get started.

Where can I play trading card games in Spokane?

Sage’s Portal hosts regular trading card game events and casual play in Spokane, Washington.

Our schedule includes weekly play, tournaments, prerelease events, championships, learn-to-play opportunities, and special events.

Our schedule changes throughout the year, but Sage’s Portal regularly supports games including:

Do I need to register before attending an event?

Advance registration is strongly recommended for many organized events.

Some events have limited capacity and may sell out.

Registering online is the best way to secure your seat.

When does online registration close?

Online ticket sales generally close 12 hours before the scheduled start time of the event.

If online registration has closed, please contact Sage’s Portal to ask whether walk-in registration is still available.

Walk-in availability is not guaranteed.

Can I register for an event at the store?

If an event still has available space, walk-in registration may be available.

However, advance registration is recommended for prereleases, tournaments, championships, and other popular events.

What is your event cancellation and refund policy?

If you purchase a ticket and later find out that you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

A full refund will be issued if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the event.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event, as well as no-shows without prior notice, are non-refundable.

What happens after I register for an event?

After registering, please review the event information carefully.

Check the date, start time, game, format, entry requirements, and any products or decks you may need to bring.

Please arrive early enough to complete check-in before the event starts.

What should I bring to a trading card game event?

Requirements depend on the event.

For constructed events, players will generally need an appropriate legal deck and any accessories they normally use to play.

For prerelease, sealed, or other limited-format events, required products may be included with registration.

Always review the individual event description before attending.

Can beginners attend TCG events at Sage’s Portal?

Yes.

Many weekly events are suitable for newer players, while championships and certain tournaments may be more competitive.

If you are still learning, look for casual play or beginner-friendly events, or contact us and ask which upcoming event would be the best place to start.

Can children participate in TCG events?

In many cases, yes.

Children and teenagers are welcome to participate in appropriate events.

Parents should consider the player’s familiarity with the game, ability to play independently, event length, and level of competition.

Both.

Can I come alone if I do not have anyone to play with?

Yes.

Many customers come to Sage’s Portal to meet other players.

Weekly organized play is often one of the easiest ways to join the local gaming community because you do not need to arrive with your own group.

What happens if an event is sold out?

A sold-out event means all currently available event seats have been reserved.

You can contact Sage’s Portal to ask whether a waitlist or additional space is available, but additional entry cannot be guaranteed.
